project brief
The objective of this project was to create an instructional booklet involving a six step tutorial on how to do and/or make something. The booklet needed to include at least six icons, using a cohesive style and clearly conveying each of the six steps through illustration. The pamphlet needed to successfully incorporate type, graphic elements, and icons into a united work with a consistent theme and an explicit message.
SOLUTION
In my final design, I aimed to create an instructional manual that was similar in appearance to the instructions one might find attached to a childhood board game. The style involved bold, bright colors, vibrant patterns, and a playful typeface. The instructions are big, bold, and easy to read, and the color palette is unified, bright, and eye-catching. I wanted to address the prompt by creating a very clear and easy to follow set of instructions, while also applying my own, cartoony style to the work and using a unified system for the icons and colors.
