The intention of this project was to create a pair of broadside posters which reflect an interpretation of the lyrics, title, and overall aesthetic of a chosen song. From the lyrics, the goal was to derive one key operative word to be developed into a logotype. Using this logotype for one poster, and an image for the other, a Post Modern Grid System must be developed and used to guide the use of typographic elements. All aspects of the posters should help convey the meaning of the lyrics and enhance the viewer's understanding of essence of the song.
SOLUTION
The final product combines the purely typographic poster and the image poster to create a duo which aims to depict the essence of the song "40 Day Dream." The colors, image, and composition convey a feeling of light, warmth, and nostalgia. These adjectives describe my interpretation of the song, and the aesthetic I intended to create for the viewer.
